What we are doing
We’re building a large wall to be used for wall ball to help new and veteran players hone their stick skills in a safe environment (no more broken windows or dented garage doors!).  Wall ball is the #1 way to improve stick skills from catching, throwing, shooting, or ground balls.

We need your help!
We’re currently looking to raise a total of $33,000 to construct a 40-foot-wide by 10-foot tall wall that will include a 40’ x 40’ concrete pad in front that will have turf added in a second phase.  We are anticipating completing the project in two phases:

Phase I – Construction of wall & concrete pad – $33k

Phase II – Adding turf to concrete pad ($TBD)

All Donations are Tax Deductible and will be paid to Liberty Athletic Boosters (LAB) which is a qualified 501(c)3 organization.  Online donations will have a surcharge for credit card processing.  If you’d like to make a bigger impact send us a check to the following address (Include Hyatts Wall Ball in the memo line):

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How big will the wall ball be?
Funds are being raised to build a 40 foot long by 10 feet high concrete wall to be used for wall ball practice for Lacrosse players.  The wall will also have enclosed netting to prevent any runaway shots and will have a turf base where players will stand.

What is wall ball and how does it help grow the game of lacrosse?
Wall ball is all about player development and stick skills.  The wall will be a place for all age groups to work on stick skills which improves players ability to catch, shoot, throwing and retrieve ground balls.

Where will the wall be located?
The wall will be located on the grounds of Olentangy Hyatts Middle school and will serve the west side of the Olentangy district and will be open to the community.

Is this tax deductible?
Yes, all donations will be run through the Liberty High School Athletic Boosters which is a 501(c)3 organization.  The boosters group will provide receipts for tax purposes.

When will the wall be completed?
Once we’ve raised all funds to complete the wall we will obtain the final approval from the Olentangy Schools for the construction and will schedule construction.  We hope to have funds by the summer of 2025 for construction.

Why build a wall?
Currently we have a shortage of safe places where players can go to improve stick skills in our community.

Why won’t the school just build it?
This is being done as a service project to help grow the game in the community.  We’ve been working with the School and District and have located a place on the grounds of Hyatts Middle School, but the funds must be privately raised and in hand before it can move forward.

Is the school/district supportive?
Yes.  We’ve had discussions with the proper groups within Olentangy Schools.  There is a predefined process and we’ve completed the initial steps, but need to raise all funds before the final approval process can be granted to move forward with construction.

Will other middle schools have wall ball facilities?
Similar to Upper Arlington our approach would be to grow the game of lacrosse across the Olentangy district.  The first wall will be built at Hyatts and the team will be available to help other programs with fundraising, approval/construction process.
